The first quarter of 2021 has been an interesting period for io games on the iOS platform in the United States. Sensor Tower provides detailed insights into the performance of these games. Here's a brief overview of how the top five contenders stacked up in terms of downloads, revenue, and weekly active users.

Agar.io experienced a peak in downloads in mid-February, reaching nearly 46K, with a notable decline towards the end of March to around 25K. Weekly active users surged to over 100K in mid-February before dipping to approximately 80K by the end of March. Revenue trends showed a mid-quarter spike, earning around 20K in mid-March, and then a slight decrease to about 16K by the quarter's end.

Lion Studios' Ancient Battle saw its highest number of weekly downloads in early January with roughly 12K, but this figure gradually decreased to just under 5K by the end of March. Active users followed a similar pattern, peaking at around 29K in mid-February and falling to 17K by the close of the quarter. Revenue, while fluctuating, remained under 10K for most of the quarter.

Finally, Spinner.io kicked off the quarter with over 9K downloads a week, witnessed a dip in early February to around 4K, and then slightly recovered to over 7K by the end of March. Weekly active users started strong at 79K, decreased to approximately 59K in mid-February, and stabilized near 56K towards the end of the quarter. Revenue remained consistent, with a slight increase to 3K by the quarter's end.
